RV maker adds 500 jobs to Noble County facility


LIGONIER, Ind. (WPTA) – An RV manufacturer is expanding in Noble County, bringing with this expansion around 500 new jobs.

Forest River RV announced Wednesday the acquisition of three buildings on Gerber Street in the Ligonier Industrial Park. The acquisition adds approximately 160,000 square feet to Forest River’s capacity.

The buildings will house a caravan production, parts and service center, officials said. The addition of approximately 500 new employees will take place over the next few years.

“The diversity of Forest River, Inc. allows us to approach the RV industry from a unique perspective, incorporating lessons learned in each of our divisions,” said Forest River spokesperson Mike Stump. “We are excited to continue to expand our operations in Noble County, where we have access to a talented workforce, a strong RV manufacturing history and ecosystem, and a conducive business environment. “

IBEX plans to ramp up production by the end of November with the first travel trailer slated to roll off the production line in early December. The company also announced that it will invest $ 4.4 million to acquire an additional 65 acres in Ligonier Industrial Park to construct three 95,000 square foot buildings and add more than $ 400,000 in new machinery and equipment. Officials predict this will bring an additional 300 new jobs to Noble County when completed.
