Bowe takes the reins of the county forestry department

Dean Bowe, Director of Forests, Lands and Parks for New Lincoln County.

On Tuesday, June 16, Dean Bowe was selected as the new director of the Lincoln County Forests, Lands and Parks Department.
Bowe replaces former director Kevin Kleinschmidt, who retired in April after 29 years of service. Bowe has served as interim manager since Kleinschmidt retired.
Native of Greenwood, Wisconsin. Bowe is a 25-year veteran of the department.
Prior to his employment in Lincoln County, Bowe attended UW-Stevens Point; graduated in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in forest management. After graduation, Bowe held various forest management roles with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as well as the private sector, before accepting a position in Lincoln County as an entry-level forester in 1995.
In 2008. Dean was promoted to Deputy Director of Forests.
Looking to the future, Bowe cites the emphasis on continuing to effectively manage the county’s forest, as well as maintaining recreational opportunities for county residents and visitors.
“I look forward to maintaining a healthy and productive county forest and continuing to provide recreational opportunities for residents and visitors,” says Bowe.
